ANDY SNEAP Speaks Out On Recent Activities And Upcoming Projects

May 30, 2002

Acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (i.e. MACHINE HEAD, STUCK MOJO, SKINLAB, NEVERMORE, etc.) posted the following update via his web site at www.andysneap.com:

"Things, as usual, have been pretty relentless. I've taken some time off this last month due to being totally exhausted with the work schedule over the last 6 months.

"The KILLSWITCH ENGAGE album went well, both myself and Adam managed to destroy the nerves of Roadrunner A+R guy Mike Gitter in the process. A daily wager was held on how many times the US (Mike) would call, this saw [KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist] Adam [Dutkiewicz] winning the princely sum of £15 by the time Mike actually arrived at the studio. Still, he got the curries so everyone was happy. Everyone seems to love the album, with Kerrang! giving it 5 Ks this week.

"ARCH ENEMY have picked up 13 awards in this years Burnn! magazine polls in Japan, this included best album and producer, unfortunately I only mixed it. Still great news though.

"A few more days tweaking left on the MASTERPLAN album. Roland (Grapow) was over last week, and we got the mixes to a rough state. There's so many tracks per song, I'd say it's definitely one of the most challenging albums I've had to mix. Jorn Lande's vocals are just awesome, even though this guy talks and smokes for Norway, he can be forgiven as he's such a great singer. Just don't ask him about Plant man, you'll never get away, though his stories were worth sitting through just to see the baffled Germans around him.

"The new FOZZY album is now finished. This is our 80's metal covers band with Chris Jericho (WWF wrestler),Rich and Bud from STUCK MOJO and myself. See www.fozzyrock.com. It's as though grunge never happened. Anyway, we have a couple of shows coming up. Atlanta On the Bricks festival June 7th with NICKELBACK and JERRY CANTRELL (there seems to have been a mix up with the running order at this, with both CANTRELL and NICKELBACK on after us). Also Bang You Head Festival June 28th in Balingen, Germany. Bruce Dickinson did the honest thing and stepped to one side to let the mighty FOZ take our rightful crown that night. How Germany will take to FOZZY…I have no idea.

"I'm mixing a few SPIRITUAL BEGGARS tracks in the next few days, then a KREATOR live DVD, which is being recorded in Korea June 4th. This will be the first project I've actually done in surround 5.1. Also talking with CONSUMED, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY and STAMPING GROUND about upcoming releases."
